Tomorrow night, the Utah Mammoth and the Buffalo Sabres face off for the first time since their summer blockbuster trade.

That blockbuster trade sent J.J. Peterka to the Mammoth for Josh Doan and Michael Kesselring. The deal addressed needs for both clubs and has proven to be a good one, with both teams benefiting from it.

For Peterka, he filled the top-six scoring forward need for Utah. So far in 12 games, he has four goals and six assists for 10 points. His career high is 68 points in 77 games last season. If he continues playing the way he has, he has a good chance to surpass that and set a new career high.

As for Doan, he has been almost as good as Peterka. In 12 games, he has scored four goals and five assists for nine points. He has proven to be a solid addition to a Sabres lineup that lacked scoring last season. He’s now just 10 points away from surpassing his career high of 19 in 51 games.

Kesselring has been a steady addition to the blue line in the three games he has played. He started the season on the sidelines with an injury, but since returning, his presence has been noticed.

Tomorrow night will be an emotional one for these three players. As they play against the organizations that drafted them for the first time since the trade.
