The Los Angeles Lakers kick off the 2025-26 season Tuesday night against the Golden State Warriors at Crypto.com Arena. The campaign marks an important shift for the franchise as Luka Doncic is set to assume his new leadership role in his first full season with the Lakers.

There are several question marks surrounding the Lakers, especially with LeBron James sidelined for an extended period because of sciatica on his right side. Doncic and company will be tasked with staying afloat in a competitive Western Conference while James is sidelined.
LA’s starting lineup against the Warriors will feature Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent and Deandre Ayton.
There’s much to look forward to this season, and the Lakers gave fans one more reason to be excited with the latest news.
The Lakers are set to debut their 2025-26 Statement Edition jerseys on Nov. 3rd against the Portland Trail Blazers.
The Lakers revealed the new uniforms at the end of June, sharing the details on the bold and traditional purple jersey.
“Stretching proudly across the chest, the Lakers’ primary word mark now appears in crisp white lettering outlined in a striking gold trim,” the statement read. “Player numbers are rendered in clean white with a bold gold drop shadow, adding depth and contrast. This uniform showcases a crips three-pane trim, with flowing stripes of lustrous purple and white that shimmer dynamically along both sides.
“The eye-catching cascade of iridescent purple appears again in the emboss tape, highlighted by the words ‘Los Angeles Lakers’ in its brightest radiance. One of the most noticeable updates is the redesigned side panel, which no longer includes the black accents from previous seasons, allowing the team’s signature purple and gold to stand out more vibrantly.”
